GREETINGS!
My name is Deanna Storfie and I was born in Prince George, B.C. but left home when she was 18 to tour with a Christian repertory theatre group out of Los Angeles, called Covenant Players. After two years of touring through the states and western Canada I felt God direct me to Lethbridge, Alberta. I have lived in the area ever since.
I have appreciated being involved in my local church and Christian community as it has helped me to strengthen and ground me in my faith. I have used my dramatic talents within this same Christian community for years.
I have enjoyed taking drama everywhere and have peformed in churches, schools, prisons, at camps, retreats, conferences, kid’s clubs, in a lighthouse, a donut shop and even people’s living rooms…wherever there are people who want to hear a good story.
While raising my four daughters, along with my husband, Colin, I have been involved in the leadership of my local church, King of Kings Fellowship. For years I have used drama to help bring Christ to my community through a local prison outreach called WOW (Women of Worth) and a program that introduces the Bible to elementary kids within a public school.
My knowledge and experience in drama and my love of a good story has led me to develop programs and plays that have benefited adults, youth, and children. Whether it is watching my dramatic storytelling, participating in my interactive plays or acting up in my drama workshops, I hope to make you laugh, cry and think.
“Deanna has a gift for communicating the gospel through drama by illustrating the lives of past heroes of the faith. She seeks to present the pith of their contribution to Christianity, and by doing so allows others to follow in their footsteps. As her pastor, I heartily endorse her ministry. To those who are considering embracing her, you will not be disappointed.”
Pastor Bob Butler, King of Kings Fellowship, Lethbridge, AB
STATEMENT OF FAITH
I believe there is only One True God who is the Creator of the universe and everything in it (Isa 44:24) but because of man’s disobedience sin entered into God’s perfect world. So God became flesh in the form of Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin and lived among us (Isa 9:6 Luke 1:26-38 John 1:14) knowing He would have to become the only perfect sacrifice for our sin (Heb 10:10).
Jesus came to reveal God’s plan of redemption to mankind. While on earth He was completely sinless and submitted to his Father, saying and accomplishing everything according to the Father’s will (Heb 10:7). And at the right time He was handed over to men by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge (Acts 2:23) to become an unblemished sacrifice for us. God then raised him from the dead for it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
He did not leave us as orphans (John 14:16-18), however, but sent the Holy Spirit, whose purpose is to convict the world of sin (John 16:8), reveal Jesus and begin the process of sanctification (John 16:13) in those who believe. It is through this same Holy Spirit that believers are able to be a light in this dark world. For all those who believe in and receive Jesus, he gives them the right to become children of God, born of God and not merely of human decision or will (John 1:12-13). As a child of God we are part of Christ’s church and it is our privilege to tell others about the wonderful gift of God’s grace through Jesus and that believing in Him is the only way to escape the judgment that is to come (John 3:16-18).
Jesus is now sitting at the right hand of His Father (Matt 26:64) but will be returning for his church to fulfill everything spoken about him by the prophets (Isa 25:6-9Dan 12:1-13).
The Bible is God’s inspired Word (2 Tim 3:16-17) to us and we are to live our lives according to its instructions. Its words are not merely suggestions but are a standard of Truth that everything should be compared too.
Because of this understanding you will find that Jesus and Scripture are both an important part of my dramas.
