Drama Basics Workshop                        3 hrs

This workshop will teach the participants the 9 Basics of Drama which are skills anyone can learn. Being trained in the ‘Basics’ will help any group put on a more polished performance. Once learned, these skills help participants grow in their own self-confidence which will benefit them throughout life. Each of the 9 Basics are taught using fun exercises that will have the group interacting and learning the same skills together. 

The 9 Basics are:

The Basics of Voice – proper speech, projection and expression                                                                           The Basics of Performing – memorizing, body movement and rehearsing                                                     The Basics of Becoming – eye contact, body language and characterization

After learning the Basics they will then be ready to put on short skits ideal for adding something a little different to your church service, youth group, sunday school, retreat, camp or conference. Good for ages 12 and up.

Performance Prep Workshop                                       5 hrs

So you’re thinking of putting on a Christmas or Easter production. There’s going to be lots of music, which your worship pastor is fully trained for, but there’s also dialogue. You have a few people who have performed in highschool and a number of people who would like to give the drama a try. You want the event to communicate the gospel and be something your congregation will invite friends, co-workers and family to, without being embarrassed to.

This is the workshop for you. It is more involved than the Drama Basics Workshop. More time is spent on each of the 9 Basics and time is also given to jump start the play your group wants to perform. They’ll look at the characters involved and how best to bring them to life. This is a great chance to invest in those who have the ability but lack  practical knowledge and experience. Let Deanna prepare your group so they can produce a more polished drama.  Good for ages 12 and up.

Storytellers Workshop                                       1 – 3 hrs  

All Sunday School teachers want to make a difference in the hearts and lives of the children in their classes. They want to be able to share Bible stories and truths so that the children understand more fully God’s love for them and how He expects them to live.  Deanna has taught Sunday School for the past twenty years and wants to share her approach with you.

In this workshop participants will learn different ways to capture and keep their group’s attention with very ‘hands-on’ exercises. They will discover Deanna’s simple approach to storytelling which involves the kids, themselves. An approach that has also left a lasting impression over the past ten years on hundreds of public elementary school kids involved in a Bible Time program in her community.
